Brian has over 30 years experience at the top level of mountaineering. Working
as a Mountain Guide (IFMGA, internationally qualified) and expedition member
has taken him climbing and skiing to many regions of the world; making first
and landmark ascents in the European Alps, Himalaya and Americas.
Four expeditions to South America have included many difficult ascents in
Patagonia, Bolivia and Peru. He has also made expeditions to Nepal, India and
Pakistan, including Jannu, Nuptse, Everest in winter, Makalu, Baltoro Kangri (ski
mountaineering), Shivling, Ogre 2 and Everest and K2.
In recent years Brian has become involved in making climbing and mountaineering films and has worked on over 50 productions in a variety of roles including Mountain Safety, Associate Producer, Second Unit action director, Actor and climbing stunts, Location finder / manager, Rigger and location still photographer.
Brian's credits are extensive - organising all of the mountain filming on the BAFTA award winning film "Touching the Void" and sequel "Beckoning Silence". Action, safety and logistics on the Bond "Die Another Day" in Iceland and on the "Shackleton" Channel 4 Drama in Greenland to name a few. Other highlights include climbing and BASE jump safety on huge limestone cliffs in France for "Top Gear", slack-lining in New Zealand with Jack Osbourne for "Adrenaline Junkie", a remote week long dog-sled journey across Baffin Island in winter for BBC 2's Wilderness Walks plus various BBC documentaries series including Mountain Men, Wild Climbs, The Face and The Edge in worldwide locations - K2, Matterhorn, Denali, Jordan, Vietnam, South Africa, Canada, USA, Borneo, South Georgia and Everest.

PHOTOGRAPHY
Brian is also an experienced photographer with an extensive library of climbing, skiing and mountain images. He has worked on numerous photographic assignments and his photographs have been published in High, Climber, On the Edge, Climbing, National Geographic, Outside, Observer and many more. Brian has also co-authored "The Face" a book for the BBC series and is a professional mountain photographer.
KENDAL MOUNTAIN FILM FESTIVAL
Brian is a former Director of ten years standing of Britain's biggest mountain film festival the Kendal Mountain Film Festival which is held in the Lake District each autumn. The program provides an exciting mix of spectacular films, stimulating lectures, entertainment, photography and art exhibitions for all those interested in high places.
