THE ASSOCIATION OF MOUNTAINEERING INSTRUCTORS

The Association of Mountaineering Instructors is the representative body for professionally qualified Mountain Instructors in the British Isles.

The AMI was formed in 1990 to represent the interests of the highly experienced mountaineers who have undergone rigorous training and assessment to qualify under the Mountain Leader Training UK (MLTUK) Mountain Instructor Scheme.

All full members of the Association are holders of the Mountain Instructor Certificate (MIC) or Mountain Instructor Award (MIA) . Trainee membership is open to those who have completed their MIA training course.  

We have worked closely with the AMI for many years and are committed to providing support to the organisation and all it's members for years to come. By providing support for trainee members in particular we aim to help and assist those instructors with the challenges of beginning their outdoor career.
