2008 South Pole race team

Team QinetiQ is the partnership between Ben Fogle, James Cracknell and an expert training and support crew from the QinetiQ company.

The team are preparing themselves to take part in an international race over 400 miles across Antarctica to the Geographical South Pole.

Ben and James will receive advanced support throughout their preparation for this gruelling challenge at the technology company's state-of-the-art facilities in Hampshire. With years of experience of working with fast jet pilots and formula one drivers QinetiQ are experts in optimising human performance and they seek out the finest technology to assist them in this quest.

Mountain Equipment has supplied clothing to Team QinetiQ to assist them in their mission to maximise the performance of Ben and James. The demanding training exercises the team will undertake will see them push themselves to the limit in sub-zero climate chambers. Products supplied include the Annapurna Jacket for protection against extreme cold and the Astron Hooded Jacket for high exertion exercises.
