Scottish Winter

Winter climbing in Scotland is about technical snow, ice and mixed climbing in almost unique conditions, with relatively mild and moist maritime conditions combing with polar air masses to create frequent freeze-thaw cycles and high levels of precipitation. Coupled with wind speeds often in excess of 50mph and sometimes over 100mph and you have one of the toughest environments for clothing going.
