Sunday 19th October 2008 sees the World Premiere of Dave MacLeod’s latest Film ‘Echo Wall’ at the Edinburgh Mountain Film Festival
Few thought that Rhapsody E11 would be bettered anytime soon, but on 28th July 2008 the first ascent of Echo Wall high on the north face of Ben Nevis brought another rise in world standards in trad climbing. Although ungraded, Echo Wall is a strong contender for the world’s hardest traditional rock climb.
Filmed and produced by Dave and his wife Claire, the film follows Dave’s preparation for and acsent of Echo Wall, high up on Ben Nevis. It takes you on a journey through some of Scotland’s most beautiful mountains and climbing venues as Dave trains, attempts and finally succeeds on what is now probably the hardest traditional rock climb in the UK, if not the world.
