The Perfectionist - in climbing and photography.
Heinz lives in Scharnitz, Tyrol. At the age of 15 he began to climb
and now ranks among the best known in the world. Since 1979,
he has travelled extensivley to the world's greatest climbing areas
and spectacular landscapes.
During his travels his love for photography developed and fell hand
in hand with his climbing. At the end of the seventies, he brought the
idea of sport climbing from America to Austria, and helped develop
sport climbing areas such as the "Jungle Book" or the "Chinese Wall".
As well as being being top sports climber Heinz is an excellent all-rounder
with a CV including an ascent of Royal Flush high on Fitzroy Patagonia, climbing a staggering 36 peaks in 3 days and a winter ascent of the North Face of the Eiger.
