Mark Clifford Mountaineering Grant

Mark Clifford died of lung cancer in 2006 aged only 34 - he was a

wonderful guy, a loving husband, a great climber, an all round

outdoor athlete and the marketing manager for Mountain Equipment.

Wanting to do something in Mark’s memory - and as Mark would have joked

'to get our marketing money’s worth at ME!' - we have launched an annual

grant, in Mark’s name, to ensure his memory and love of the Mountains lives on.

The grant’s purpose is to support and encourage young Mountaineers, to

provide financial assistance enabling new routes, exploration and education

that would otherwise not be possible.
