“Why devote a life entirely to mountains? 2016 was a good climbing year; expedition followed expedition, and I climbed my heart out. I shared some great adventures with even greater friends. We witnessed breath-taking sunrises, golden evening light, and starry nights. We suffered, screamed in pain, and walked for endless days. But why do this? Why devote a life entirely to climbing? Our motivation is simple: for the love of it.”
