VIDEO: Mammoth Couloir Pt 1: Hole in the Wall

    • Stories

“Turned back by six miles of closed pavement on the way to Mt. Whitney, Alex Taran and I were in Mammoth with our main plan in tatters. We opted to brave the local low tide conditions for a day of couloir skiing.

Hiding out in the rock walls above Mary’s Lake, the water draining a gully opted to go straight through the rock as opposed to wearing it down in the typical v-shaped pattern. Most winters, you can ski all the way back to the lake.” David
