Kryos
Part of our Extreme Alpine sleeping bag range, the lightweight Kryos is designed for alpine expedition use and cold-weather trips where low weight and extreme protection are essential.
Combining exceptionally high-quality minimum 800 fill power goose down with an extremely breathable and water resistant DRILITE® LOFT 10 denier outer fabric, the Kryos thrives in remote cold environments and can easily cope with snow melt and condensation. For added protection, the DRILITE® fabric extends into the hood of the bag, around the collar and in the foot box—all areas that are prone to getting damp.
Throughout the bag, trapezoid baffles optimally balance weight and pack size against warmth and down control. In the hood and collar, a complex seven baffle system concentrates down for optimum warmth and protection over long-term use, while in the anatomically shaped footbox a six baffle system focuses warmth around your feet. A full-length Gemini™ entry zip baffle reduces heat loss in this vulnerable area and the low-profile magnetic Lode Lock™ closure and collar drawcords are easy to use in the dark or in difficult conditions.
Our extreme alpine bags have a tapered Alpine fit that can still accommodate additional down layers and boots as necessary, and also allows for seated or fetal-position sleeping on restricted bivy spots.
With a Good Night’s Sleep Temperature of -20oC, the Kryos is the warmest bag in our extreme alpine range. This rating, determined through a combination of exhaustive lab work, countless field trials and thorough expedition testing, indicates the minimum temperature in which we feel an experienced user will be comfortable in this bag in real-life situations.
