Ben is at the forefront of an exciting new breed of British ski mountaineer, pushing the boundaries of what is possible on skis, exploring the mountains from a steeper perspective.
Growing up in London was an unlikely beginning for a extreme skier, but Ben fell in love with skiing at an early age after trips away with school and later with friends. Following his passion he moved to Chamonix at nineteen and quickly moved from a racing background to free ride skiing and then on to steep ski mountaineering.
Over the past eight years Ben has been making descents of Europe’s rarely attempted test pieces, skiing where many aspire to climb. Ben is part of a new generation of steep skiers repeating lines with a focus on style; eliminating rappels and making fast and fluid turns. The next step for Ben is to pioneer this same approach in the greater ranges.
