Care and Washing - Waterproof Clothing
Over time you may find that the water does not run off the surface of the jacket as freely as it once did (this is also known as 'wetting out').
This is due to wear and dirt affecting the water-repellent treatment that is applied to the outer to maintain a high level of reathability.
This treatment can be reactivated by applying heat to the surface of the garment with a cool iron or in a tumble dryer.
However make sure that you first check the care label of your garment to make sure this is appropriate.
Eventually you will find that you will not be able to reactivate the treatment effectively.
When this occurs you will need to treat your garment with a reproofing product available from most outdoor stores.
As with all cleaners and treatments, read the instructions before use.
