Mountain Equipment Oreus Jacket Wins ISPO Award for Outstanding Performance

The Mountain Equipment Oreus Jacket with pioneering Aetherm precision insulation has been recognised for its exceptional performance. In November 2023, it won the prestigious ISPO Award, which is considered one of the most significant awards in the Outdoor industry.

The Oreus was recognised for its innovative use of new Aetherm insulation technology from Mountain Equipment.  Aetherm™ pushes the limits of what is possible with insulation, creating a new performance benchmark. The secret is the unique patented construction. “The unique 3D structure of Aetherm insulation provides unparalleled performance characteristics not found in other synthetics,” comments Dr Matt Fuller, Product Engineer at Mountain Equipment.

Multiple strands of 100% recycled polyester fibres are interlocked within a reflective layer to provide exceptional warmth. Aetherm™ provides a feeling like no other when worn, with a best-in-class warmth-to-weight, loft and packability.

The ISPO Award Judges said, "Instead of waiting for other companies to develop new insulation technologies, Mountain Equipment has used its own experience to become one of the inventors. The jacket is exceptionally light, soft, warm and packable - perfect for many outdoor activities, from mountaineering to ski touring"."We are thrilled to receive the ISPO Award for the Oreus Jacket," said Terry Stephenson, Head of Marketing at Mountain Equipment. "This award is a testament to our commitment to providing our customers with the best products for outdoor adventures."

Aetherm precision insulation can be found in the new Men’s and Women’s Mountain Equipment Oreus Jacket and Vest, designed for a wide range of alpine pursuits where low weight and dependable warmth are essential; these styles will launch to the market in Autumn/Winter 2024.

The Oreus with Aetherm Insulation will be officially unveiled to the public at ISPO 2024 Munich from 28th - 30th November at Mountain Equipment's stand (A1:311).
