Mountain Equipment to require annual down supply audits

As part of our integration of the RDS 3.0 standard into DOWN CODEX®, Mountain Equipment has confirmed that its supply chain audits will now be carried out on an annual basis. Prior to the adoption of the RDS standard, audits were carried out every three years.
The move, which has been under consideration for some time, forms part of our policy of continuous improvement and adoption of best practice. The greater auditing frequency will bring increased rigour to our welfare framework.
RDS 3.0 is the first RDS standard that has offered sufficiently stringent animal welfare criteria for Mountain Equipment to adopt its audit methodology and standard into DOWN CODEX®.
